Our most valuable resource is the extraordinary people who support and care for our Residents. Our expert direct support professionals have had years of experience in the highly demanding health care industry. They have gone on to receive specialized training to support individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities or those who are or otherwise unable to fully care for themselves.

Our Application Process

​

We’re committed to hiring the most capable and qualified individuals to provide support for the people with disabilities who utilize services through our organization.

​

In order to pursue employment with us, you must be at least 18 years of age*, possess a current, valid driver’s license with a clear driving record, have a high school diploma or GED equivalent, and be eligible for employment in the United States. You will be required to submit the following documents.

  • Proof of highest level of education (High School diploma, GED, etc.)

  • Driver’s license

  • Proof of employment eligibility

  • References to include: Two (2) professional and one (1) personal
    (References must be submitted to our Human Resources Department upon your first interview.)

After receiving your application, After your application has been received and reviewed, should it meet the minimum requirements, you’ll be contacted for a pre-screening interview.  This is not a regular interview or an offer of employment.

​

All pre-screened candidates are placed into our applicant tracking system for review by the hiring managers.  Should your qualifications meet the specific needs of a home or program site, the hiring manager or a human resources representative will contact you to arrange an interview and/or site visit.  Following a successful in-person interview/site visit, an offer of employment may be extended. 

​

Please be aware that due to the large volume of applications received, it’s not always possible to respond to specific inquiries.  Generally, a prospective candidate will go through several phases of screening and interviewing before an offer is extended. We ask that all candidates be patient with the our hiring process.

​

Also, all candidates should be aware that offers of employment are made contingent upon the successful completion of a post-offer physical examination and drug screening, and successful completion of orientation. The cost of the pre-employment physical will be deducted from an employee’s first pay.  The cost of the pre-employment drug screening must be paid in cash to Springfield Occupational Health by the applicant. All new hires, regardless of status or shift, are required to attend Orientation and successfully complete all courses.
